How The Adoption Process Works
1. Choose Your Dog. Click on the "Our Dogs" tab and choose the dog that you are interested in adopting.
2. Submit our Adoption Application Request form. Click here to complete our application request form and we will contact you with the link to our complete adoption application.
3. Complete the Online Adoption Application. A link and password to our online Adoption Application will be sent to you upon receipt of your inquiry. **Please allow 24-48 hours for a response to your inquiries. We are an extremely small, dedicated group working as quickly as we can to help match, and find forever homes, for as many homeless dogs as possible.
Because of its length, we suggest you fill out the application on a desktop computer, not on mobile. It must be complete in one sitting and cannot be saved.
4. Speak with an adoption counselor. An adoption counselor will contact you by phone to discuss the contents of your application and answer any questions that you may have. Please alert your vet and personal references that we will be in touch with them during this process.
5. Wait to be notified. Lulu's Rescue will notify you via email with our decision. (Note: we reserve the right to deny adoption without reason.)
Adoption Fees
Adult dogs: Age 1 year 1 month and older $425.00
Puppies 7-12 months: $425.00
Puppies up to 6 months: $575.00
Senior dogs: Age 7 and up $295.00
Rehoming fee: $250.00
What’s included in an adoption fee?
Spay/neuter
Vaccinations, including rabies and distemper
Flea/tick treatments while in foster care
Heartworm test
Monthly heartworm preventative while in foster care
Deworming while in foster care
Treatment for injuries/illnesses pets prior to adoption
Cost of food, shelter, and supplies while in foster care
When You're Approved
1. Congratulations! If you are approved to adopt, we will arrange a mutually acceptable time for you to meet your new family member. The contract must be completed and adoption fee paid before you take your dog home. PLEASE NOTE: The only forms of payment we can accept are payment using your credit/debit card, PayPal, or a certified bank check or money order. We are sorry but we are no longer able to accept personal checks for adoption fees.
2. Ensure a smooth transition to your family. Take a look at our resources, and contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We're here to help.
3. You will receive your dog's vet records within 10 business days. Please make an initial wellness appointment with your veterinarian within 2 weeks and bring along the records provided by the rescue as well as a fecal sample.

Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption of a specific dog. Our mission is to find the best possible home for each of our companion animals.
Lulu's reserves the right to deny adoption without reason.
Lulu’s does not adopt dogs into households with children under 10 years of age, since it is an accepted national statistic that most childhood dog bites are from the family pet in children under 10 years of age.
Animal behavior, is situational as proven by scientific research, and therefore sentient creatures may react differently to environmental factors. In an effort to set our adoptive families and their dogs up for success, we are transparent in relaying information about the dog's history while in our care, however we cannot predict or guarantee future behavior in your environment. Strictly adhering to the "2 week shutdown" is critical in providing a good foundation for a successful adoption.
Lulu's will not adopt out puppies under 9 weeks of age.
To adopt a puppy, you must have a a non-senior dog living with you now. If you are adopting a puppy, your current dog should not be a senior. We believe senior pups should have peace in their geriatric years.
Lulu’s considers e-collar inhumane treatment of dogs and therefore will not approve adoption by anyone who uses them.
Lulu's Rescue is a small, dedicated group. We strive to process all applications in a timely and efficient manner.
