Lulu’s Rescue, founded in 2010, is a homeless dog rescue group comprised of dedicated members with over 30 collective years in rescue, foster, and adoption placement. We are an all-breed inclusive rescue advocating on behalf of all dogs and an officially recognized 501c3 non-profit.

Our mission is to end the daily killing of thousands of adoptable dogs in the US and to break the cycle of homelessness through spay/neuter outreach, humane education, and rescue efforts. We are committed to finding the best homes for these amazing creatures, ones in which they can flourish and live out their natural lives surrounded by loving care and kindness.

Our policy is not first come first served but rather which family would be the best possible match for our furry friends in need. We all believe very deeply in the words of Matthew Scully:

"Animals are more than ever a test of our character, of mankind’s capacity for empathy and for decent, honorable conduct and faithful stewardship. We are called to treat them with kindness, not because they have rights, power or a claim to equality, but in a sense, because they don’t. They all stand unequal and powerless before us."

Thank you for supporting our mission of rescue, spay/neuter and education.

    Project: Un-Adoptable Photoshoots

    10:00am-3:00pmMelissa McDaniel

An online photo series and hardcover book, featuring Lulu’s Rescue pups, that will raise awareness for shelter dogs on death row.

Lulu’s is partnering with award-winning, published photographer Melissa McDaniel for "Project: Un-Adoptable." Help us raise awareness about the inhumane killing happening in shelters across the US. We invite you and your pooch to be a part of this incredible opportunity by getting your dog photographed for the project’s photo series and website (and maybe a book)!

When you book a photography session with Melissa for Project: Unadoptable, Melissa will donate 50% of her sitting fee to Lulu’s to help us continue our mission. Your dog’s image will be featured in a photo series, Unadoptable, on Tumblr and Facebook. Your pup has a chance of being published in a book to further raise awareness on incredible rescue dogs, like yours!

Sessions cost $100 (with $50 of that going to Lulu’s).
If you wish to order prints after the session, they can be ordered ala carte and start at $20 for a 5x7, $25 for a 8x10

To book, email Melissa at info@melissashouse.com to reserve a timeslot. After you do that, Melissa will direct you to Lulu’s website to donate $50. This is a non-refundable donation to reserve your spot. At the time of your session, bring $50 in cash or check to pay the remainder of your sitting fee.
